On the seminar prewrite, one of the questions was, “Is racism natural?” I find that racism is something that is brought upon early on in life, during somebody’s childhood. Racism is influenced by parents when someone is young. Different races raise their children in a different way than others and that means they influence their children in different ways. For example, Caucasians are usually raised by Caucasian parents and white people usually believe that they have more superiority over other races. In Crash, when the black married couple was pulled over by the police, the white police officer molested the wife and treated the couple with no respect because they were black. This was an example of discrimination against black people. Another example in the movie was how the DA’s wife was treating her maid like a worthless waste of space and all of it was because she was Hispanic. This was showing the discrimination between Caucasians and Hispanics. White people were raised in families that were somehow racist in every way, and therefore, white people are raised to be racist.
